Day Trip from Fes • Imperial City Exploration
Our wonderful one day tour starts from your accommodation in Fes, taking you towards one of the four imperial cities of Morocco, the city of Meknes. Along the way, we'll visit a special destination - the historical site of Volubilis from 25 BC, featuring remarkable Roman ruins. Next and not far from this location, staying in the historical mood, we'll visit the city of Moulay Driss, the oldest city in Morocco where the founder of Islam in North Africa is buried. We'll enjoy lunch in this beautiful city.
Then we'll continue towards a city known as the Ismaili capital of Morocco - the city of Meknes. Here you'll see the famous historical gate of "Bab Mansour el Alaaj", the second most famous plaza in Morocco after Jamaa el-Fna in Marrakech - the plaza of "Lahdim". Next you'll see the Basin of "Sahrij Souani" and explore the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum.
Eventually, we'll return to Fes, completing our historical journey through Morocco's imperial heritage.
